Botanical name: Rosmarinus Officinalis
Common name: Rosemary
Description: Rosmarinus officinalis is an evergreen shrub that can grow up to 2 meters tall. It has needle-like, aromatic leaves that are dark green on top and silver-grey underneath. The plant produces small, blue-purple flowers in late winter to early spring.
Care Instructions:
Light: Rosmarinus officinalis prefers full sun, but it can tolerate some shade. Provide at least 6 hours of sunlight per day for optimal growth and flowering.
Water: Water deeply but infrequently, allowing the soil to dry out slightly between waterings. In general, rosemary is drought-tolerant and prefers well-draining soil. Overwatering can lead to root rot.
Fertilising: Rosemary does not require frequent fertilising. Apply a balanced fertiliser in early spring, following the instructions on the fertiliser label for the appropriate application rate. Do not fertilise after midsummer, as this can encourage new growth that is vulnerable to winter damage.
