Botanical name: Ligularia reniformis Common name: Reniform ligularia Description: Ligularia reniformis is a herbaceous perennial plant with large, rounded, kidney-shaped leaves that can grow up to 12 inches in diameter. The leaves have a textured surface and are often a deep green colour with a purple or bronze tinge underneath. The plant produces yellow daisy-like flowers on tall stems in summer, which contrast nicely with the foliage. It grows to a height of 2-4 feet and spreads to 3 feet or more. Care Instructions: Light: Reniform ligularia prefers partial shade to full shade. It can tolerate some morning sun, but it will wilt in direct afternoon sun. Water: It likes moist soil and requires regular watering, especially during hot, dry weather. However, it does not like wet soil, so be sure to provide adequate drainage. Fertilising: Ligularia reniformis does not need much fertilisation. A light feeding in the spring with a slow-release fertiliser should be sufficient.
