Gro Urban Oasis is affectionately referred to as ‘a little branch of Eden’. Eden Gardens is a lush oasis of a plant palace located in Sydney and Brisbane. They’ve been making gardens for years but have decided to branch out.
Founded and owned by plant lovers Simon and Anna Ainsworth, Eden Gardens was opened in 2004 in Sydney and 2008 in Queensland. Think all things plant – indoor & outdoor, pots, plant nurture, lifestyle, furniture, café, functions, gardens and events. Simon bleeds green and works as Managing Director of Eden Gardens overseeing all areas of the business from the Macquarie Park Head office. Anna also works in the business as Community Development Manager and Director of the Eden Foundation aligning with causes such as Cancer Council and Youth off the Streets.
While all was blooming beautiful in the biz Simon often pondered how he could bring plants to more peoples’ lives. He thought as the way people lived their life had changed so should the way they had access to plants. Connections have changed, with new gardens growing and gardening being seen in a new light and in new ways. Plants have new places to grow, different places and surprising places!
And so Gro Urban Oasis was born.
Eden’s little sister Gro was ahead of its time in 2008 and while concepts for design and strategy were developed and implemented at the Eden Gardens’ locations, it did not come to life on its own until May 2017.
The concept is this – bring beautiful plants, pots & lifestyle products to where the people shop daily. How could they say no?!

Simon & Anna have been immersing themselves in living green for a long time. Enriching people’s lives with plants is their mantra.
With Gro Urban Oasis they live and breathe the concept of living better, simply. Giving gifts that ‘Gro’ is the way of the future and a concept that we hope everyone will adopt. In a time of sustainability and being Earth aware, Gro Urban Oasis’s ‘living better, simply’ could not have come at a better time.
Gro Urban Oasis launched at Westfield Miranda Mother’s Day 2017. It was a brilliant opening and remains one of our biggest days ever. In November 2018 we opened Westfield Warringah Mall – a bigger, stunning store that benefits from the centres’ natural light layout. Rouse Hill Town Centre opened in June 2019 and Bondi Junction August 2019. There are more stores in Sydney on the calendar for 2019 and we are already looking at interstate locations.
