Lindy has been at Eden Gardens for nearly a decade, based in Victoria, and is lucky to travel for work to Sydney, Brisbane and overseas for buying trips. She has had her own floristry business and small fashion label, and been a visual merchandiser and buyer. Styling is in her blood, and she confesses to having not only a colour blocked wardrobe, but also fridge!

How can people easily stay on trend and incorporate
‘Living Coral’?
Add oversized pots filled with oversized leaves like Monstera and Philodendron, or simply group vessels in threes and put foliage in them. Living Coral can be layered in with plant foliage, flower colours, natural finishes and soft furnishings. It works well with earthy tones, blushes and terracotta’s,aqua and blues, adding warmth to autumn and winter, while the pastels will add a freshness to a spring or summer styling.
- What’s coming up next for 2019?
Everything is about texture. Velvet, natural fabrics, concrete, metal, even gems. There will also be a focus on youthfulness, with global and indigenous inspirations such as large baskets and wall ‘necklaces’. Craftsmanship and technology are both big too.
- Do you have a favourite item?
Earthenware vases – in fact all Japanese earthen-ware and teapots. I also love fabric. I collect chairs and I love a wood ottoman; it can be used as a plant stand, side table or stool.
I have always been inspired by Kenzo Takada, his love of nature, fabric and gardening.

What’s your favourite plant and what’s your own garden like?
My garden revolves around relaxing and entertaining.
It is a low maintenance, natural garden, structured with Japanese box and prostrate conifers. I love the Gingko tree too. We also have espaliered figs, vegetables, herbs and 4 raised garden beds with a table in the middle. I always have rows of lime butter lettuce, and let spring onions go to seed so we have alliums for the bees.
